Rosetta Hurley - I enjoy photographing images that inspire peacefulness & a sense of joy in the world around us, especially the special liminal environment of the Lower Columbia River Estuary.

Although I was born with artistic vision, life has taken me down many different roads. But, I always keep cycling back to art. In the 60's & 70's I was a fibre artist. I later sublimated my urge to create in my vintage clothing & antique business, which allowed me to handle & restore many beautiful works of art. That's behind me now, & I have discovered the satisfactions of photography. I am drawn to framing the beautiful, and ephemeral natural environment of the coast. Photography is a special art form because it has to do with capturing an instant in time. I hope my photographs can serve to document this fragile beauty, in this time, in this place, because it's changing.

"Rosetta - What wonderful photography! These are the first I've seen of your Italian collection. Along the river Arno is a knockout. I also really appreciate the Salal in the Rain. Your are so very talented - your work is just what you intend - peaceful and inviting.
