Mary Tanguay Webb - I am a painter and a writer (Fishtrap Fellow),

a community activist, a former VISTA volunteer, an art collector, an avid gardener, a dyed in the wool Astoriaphile and a grandmother. My husband (with whom I have been friends since the sixth grade) and I live in Union Town where we both have studios and a view of the shipping channel. We feel that we are finally home.

I studied Art at the University of Oregon and at Portland State (my mentor being Richard Muller.) I taught in the Artists-in the-Schools program in Portland and my work is in several public institutions including the University of Portland and First Interstate Bank as well as in private collections.

I have a broad appreciation and interest in Art and that is reflected in the wide spectrum of work I produce from abstract collages to expressionistic portraits. I am a fan of conceptual Art and a supporter of community Art.

I do portraits upon commission and can be reached at

"Hello! This is Leanne, Brandon's girlfriend!
I am in a couple of art classes at the college and was looking for a local artist and gallery to write a report on (we have to do several of these throughout the term) and I googled local Astorian artists and you happened to pop up... So I guess I'll write my evaluation on YOUR work? :]

"

--Leanne Huber

No, I didn't get an email from you. Resend it to glansdown@pacifier.com and I will watch for it.

"I am quite surprised that you paint, That is great stuff."

--maxine
"I love the abstract compositions. They really have a great feeling and language of shape. Your application of paint with in your compositions shows no favoritism and receives equal care. Very nice.
"

--Jack Francisco Jr

--Pete
