LaRee Johnson - Astoria's waterfront and historic ambience give me daily inspiration for my photography and writing.

"I love "Anita Sue". I love old boats. Like the saying 'if these walls could
talk' I know old boats have stories to tell too. Great photos."

--Marji Crummett
"I second Mary's comment, LaRee! I love "Gull and Crow". And the boats and ships on our river have needed some great aesthetic documentation--what a "motley crew" (old and modern) there is out there--quite wonderful.

"Your work has a quality about it that pulls me into the subject- makes me wish I was there, as if being there right now was a possbility. Very impressive."

--Angela Baumgartner
"enjoyed looking at your photography."

" Beautiful work!"

--Jim Harmon
"There is a certain nostaligic ruggedness that comes through in many of your photos- especially Red Eagle, Anita Sue and Cap 'n Oscar that are so appealing. You've caught the essence of life on the water- where the sound of slapping ropes, the screech of the gulls and the spraying mist come to life in a single shot. Good job!"

--Angela Baumgartner
"Very nice compositions, LaRee. You have a dicerning eye and a feeling for color."
