Hey Mr. Webmeister sir, I'm starting this forum to discuss possible improvements or suggestion for the site.
So I'll start with what made me think of the idea. I'm sure a lot of this is stuff you plan for later anyway, but it might help so here goes:
Is it possible for the Forum menu to stay in place (as does the "AVA Center" menu bar) so that it doesn't disappear when scrolling thorugh posts?
As it is now, one must scroll back up to the top before navigating the forum.
Thanks

That is a good suggestion, and that may be possible at some point in the future. One problem is that in order to do that, I will have to reverse-engineer, and possibly modify, the discussion-board software... Which is a third-party product and will take some time...
It is possible, and I am going to work on that in the future, and I like you suggestion, so let's think about it when we are working on AVA Website 2.0 -- a response, I'll be giving out a lot in this thread...
However, your request is telling, in regards to other areas, and I will chalk it up as a vote in favor of keeping a frames-based organization with a constant navigation header at the top of the browser window.
The fixed-navigation-header was originally a convenient development thing, but I am growing to like it, and I am thinking we'll keep it...
PS: Kudos on the "Suggestion Box" thread!

I think the fixed navigation header is good for a couple of reasons.
One, it's always there so one does not get disoriented, and although I sometimes enjoy disorientation, I never enjoy it on a website. And two, I think it's a selling point for anyone considering buying the banner ads - they would always be visible. And three THREE there are THREE reasons - the third being, of course, an almost fanatical devotion to The Pope.

Hello,
I did some editing on the first announcement, wanted to point out in the blurb that reg. is free, but the advantages to members, and I compressed the language as much as possible, but it still pushes the email message down below the wordcount limit. Doesn't bother me, but if you feel strogly about re-editing, I've no problem with it.
Thanks,
Scott

Concerning April 6th on calendar: "Wasn't there a music event on this night? No one's entered any data in our calendar..."
I actually had entered the event, but did not remember to mark PUBLIC!!!
Everyone make note - check to see if you've made your event public!
I'm going to check things now to see if private or public.

Hey Mr. Phil,
Way down the list on refinements this is, but it would make a difference I think, at least for me, and of course if only I could stop dissembling and just say what the hell I'm getting at, which is:
When one selects to view "Active Topics," and is presented with a concise list of the most recent posts, then one mouses over the topic titles, and one is presented with a very handy view of the first several words in each post.
This is a great feature which I find very handy, excepting inasmuch as the text appears as white on a light greyish background that is extremely difficult to read. Extremely difficult.
Is it possible to make that text black so as to make it easier to read? Or conversely, to darken the background color?
Many thanks for your consideration.
