Run, run, run. Run, run, run, away...

I updated the text, but wasn't quite sure what to do about the separate "Businesses" & "Art Supporters" text and the contact us links, so check it out, and advise if changes needed...

I think it looks fine for now Phil, we can get the membership/marketing committee to look it over - maybe we'll sit them in front of a laptop at the next meeting if no one gets in here before that.

Cool Beans!

I built the membership management tools in last night, and will try and get the membership data and import it in the next few days. Eventually, I'll integrate automatic renewal reminders expiration warnings.

I have also made the Membership Levels editable by the staff, so that if we ever change a membership level, then the "join us" form will automatically reflect the changes.

I'm ultimately hoping to shift the central paradigm of how this web-site operates to be member-centric, so that the Gallery and Staff data will spring forth from basic member data -- much like Athena springing forth from Zeus' forehead... ;\)

Towards the top of these forums, in one of the menu bars, is a link called, "My Stuff," with a little yellow triangle next to it. Click on this link, and a menu will pop-up. Choose the second link from the top of this menu called "My Profile."

This will take you to the page where you can set your various profile settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page, and you will find your avatar options. Choose "Upload your avatar", and then "Browse" to find your avatar on your hard-drive.

Remember to click the "Submit" button at the bottom of that page.

Hey there here's some of the cleaned up text from the newsletter (when I say "cleaned up," I don't mean edited - I just had to convert text from word doc text and then take out errant returns or whatever they are called.) Anyway I didn't copy everything, but here's most of the relevant and useful info to plug in to the front page however you suggest:

AVA Center Rental Opportunities
In an effort to help offset the cost of our rent and further open the space to the community, AVA has begun a ne

"AVA has begun a ne"???

"What the bleedin' 'ell's tungsten carbide "ne"???

"It's something we use in coal-mining, father. Something you'll never understand!"

Sorry, could help but appropriate a little dialog structure from Monty Python's, "Hardworking Playwright," sketch... ;\)

I saw your email, which has the converted text in it. I will show you how you can enter this yourself with the staff tools, once I have the membership-base installed, and have given you both gallery and staff permissions.

Also, this old cut-and-paste MS-Word into HTML-forms bugaboo has been a problem for years, and there are workarounds, I just haven't installed them yet, but hopefully you won't have to worry about such conversions in the future...

PS: There isn't a UNIX-based web-developer worth his salt, who's been around for the last 15 years, who doesn't loath Microsoft for a multitude of impudent transgressions over the past decade... They've really managed to fuck up a beautiful thing, much like SPAM emailers... \:\(

I suppose you'll be off to some Gala Luncheons now, eh? Watch out for those wicked writers hand cramps.

I am in Dunsmuir. road-wired, can't sleep yet - hence the text editing.

"...road-wired, can't sleep yet..."

Can't Sleep!??

What do you know about it? What do you know about getting up at five o'clock in the morning to fly to Paris... back at the Old Vic for drinks at twelve, sweating the day through press interviews, television interviews and getting back here at ten to wrestle with the problem of a homosexual nymphomaniac drug-addict involved in the ritual murder of a well known Scottish footballer. That's a full working day, lad, and don't you forget it!
