I was wondering if I can make a suggestion for a show in October? I was thinking about the theme of "Protest/Social justice" art. I know I haved joined yet and I'm not sure this is the right form to suggest something but I thought I'd throw it out there. A lady at work says it's better to ask forgiviness than permission so I guess I'm doing that!

Yes, you can certainly make a suggestion for a show - especially if you're willing to help put it together! Join us, it's fun.

It sounds like a great show to me. Do you know people with lots of posters - graphics of social protest? I'd love to see them.

Come to a board meeting or artists committee meeting and suggest the show, or corner a board member or artist's committee member at one of the openings, and tell them what you'd like to do. Ask whoever appears to be standing at the counter during an event - that's usually a board member or volunteer.

Thanks for coming to the forum, it's good to have people in here!

How exciting! I would be more than willing to help. I know I have a peice and I'm pretty sure my daughter has one too and given this much lead time I'm sure we could get other peices. I am donating a peice for the found art show so I will be there and talk to someone.

Dear Chamber Member:
The 26th Annual Great Columbia Crossing walk/run will take place on Sunday, October
14, 2007.
This 10 k walk/run brings over 5000 people to our area for the week-end of the
event. As you know all participants receive a souvenir t-shirt to commemorate this
day.

This year we are opening the artwork submissions to our local community. The art
will be featured on the shirt, poster, our website and other promotional materials.

Please help us by forwarding this on to others that you think might be interested
in submitting a design.
Interested parties should email: paulettemccoy@charterinternet.com by May 31, 2007
for further details of the artist agreement
Final art submission must be presented in a JPEG or TIFF file by June 22, 2007.

I had another thought about October. I did sort of talk to Jamie about it and I will be at the meeting in July (I can't make June-I have an art class.)but I was thinking about a show focusing on art reflective of he pacific northwest for the columbia crossing weekend. I've started to design 3 quilts around the designs of the victorian windows here. Thoughts?
